Grace Exhibition Space, Brooklyn is opening a residency program along the Hudson River at ART/LIFE INSTITUTE, Kingston in New York.
We plan a focus on diverse community-building through our unique residency in Kingston for Performance
Artists. Residency: to live in the building that was Linda Mary Montano's performance space and archive,
for one-month residencies, on the Rondout Harbor in Kingston, NY. Our purpose for the residency is to
foster a community for the Arts in Kingston, to walk around the wonderful waterfront, meet the people in
Kingston, then hosting the local people you’ve meet met for a dinner party at the end of the month.
Art/Life Institute, Kingston will host two events per month in the Institute’s performance space.
Performance Art Happenings called “Art + Life” and leave you in peace the rest of the time to live and
work.
The facility includes a large open performance space, a private loft with bed, kitchen and bath, utilities
include heat, water and wifi.
The residency program offers artists the time and support to create new work and fosters an environment
that encourages creativity, community, and experimentation. Artists will be selected based on the quality of their work, commitment to their practice and ability to foster
community.
Residency Fee: $500 includes all utilities, living/work space and a presentation at the end of the residency
+ $500 Deposit
Not Included: daily meals and supplies, these need to be covered by the applicant. There is a large surplus
materials’ supply store across the street.
